Burn Notice - UPDATE


Rules of the game for the Pyres Series new pyro pieces.


1. On paper and includes pyrography.

2. Anything goes beyond Rule 1.

3. Humble, simple, imperfect.

4. Eric ate the rules.



UPDATE
I've decided that since I'm just getting to know pyro that it's too soon to date exclusively. It's better for my creative process to let them run free-range for awhile and not force a narrower series onto them just yet (unless one just jumps out and bites me). Pyres, as a formal series, is retired for the time-being and all the bits of charred paper can be found under a general "Pyrography" label (see View by Subject on the right side of screen).

My mailbox contained a wonderful treat on Friday...a lovely gelatin monotype by artist, Martha Marshall . Gelatin Monotype by Martha Marshall My collection of other artist's small works is growing and I'm delighted that this piece is included. I'll be making some monotypes in the near future and Martha will choose one to complete our trade - love doing that!

36 Droplets

I like seeing them as a large group - they seem to make more sense that way than as individual rain drops. Can't wait to see all 100 together, although just seeing them as images will have to do. I doubt I could ever afford to frame all 100 and even if I did, what would I do with them? Most of my works-on-paper are put into my works-on-paper binders, and occasionally I thumb through them like a child rummaging through the odd assortment of baubles in a hidden treasure chest. These are my personal artistic obsession and not really meant for commercial purposes (monotypes excepted), so I'll entertain myself by grouping them here on my blog.  To date, there are 75 completed Days of Rain. I will continue to post them until the rainy season comes to end.
