My mailbox contained a wonderful treat on Friday...a lovely gelatin monotype by artist, Martha Marshall.

My collection of other artist's small works is growing and I'm delighted that this piece is included. I'll be making some monotypes in the near future and Martha will choose one to complete our trade - love doing that!

    Thanks Karine! I've been making monotypes for several years and just love them. I'm really intrigued to try this new Gelli plate though. :-)

    Martha, my pleasure! I haven't had much time to play with the Gelli, but the few prints I pulled to test it out were fun to do. I'm looking forward to digging into it once all the stuff needed for my solo show calms down. :-)

How to Lose Your Leaves and Survive the Winter

They are somewhat compulsive as I need to make things -- almost addictively. Sometimes, I have to force myself to post them them as I recognize that they are perhaps, not great art. That's okay. Over the years, I've worked hard to make good paintings, market them professionally, get that pat on the head through sales and increasing recognition. That has happened and I am delighted -- but I lost something of myself along the way. Did you know that I have quite the wicked (raunchy at times) sense of humor? No?
