Coyote Mesa - Oil & Cold Wax


A couple of years ago, I made a few experimental pieces using cold wax on paper. And while that initial foray into the medium left me uninspired to continue at that time, the cold wax still rattled around my noggin. A few days ago, I decided to pull the waxy goop back out and try it with oil paints on a gorgeous new(ish) oil painting paper by Arches. This time, I'm in love.

My mailbox contained a wonderful treat on Friday...a lovely gelatin monotype by artist, Martha Marshall . Gelatin Monotype by Martha Marshall My collection of other artist's small works is growing and I'm delighted that this piece is included. I'll be making some monotypes in the near future and Martha will choose one to complete our trade - love doing that!
